VIRGINIA TIRE & AUTO RECEIVES ASE BLUE SEAL OF EXCELLENCE RECOGNITION

Family-owned and Operated Automotive Maintenance Provider Celebrates Chantilly Location’s Commitment to Automotive Excellence and Training

(Fairfax, VA – April 30, 2012) – Virginia Tire & Auto (www.vatire.com), the Fairfax-based leading full-service provider of automotive maintenance, repair and tire needs, is pleased to announce that its Chantilly location (13909 Metrotech Drive) received Blue Seal of Excellence recognition from the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE). ASE is the only nationally recognized independent organization in the United States that tests and certifies automotive service professionals, distinguishing those who have a high degree of commitment to automotive excellence and training. To qualify for Blue Seal of Excellence recognition, 75 percent of the auto repair facility’s technicians must be ASE-certified.

“We are honored our Chantilly location has achieved Blue Seal of Excellence recognition,” said Julie Holmes, Vice President, Virginia Tire & Auto. “We strive to provide world-class customer service at our 11 locations and as a result, we have many customers who have relied on our technicians’ commitment to excellence and experience for many years. Our Chantilly facility will proudly display this achievement.”

Only 1,400 shops in the United States have qualified for the Blue Seal of Excellence program and of those, only 30 such auto repair facilities are located in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Chantilly is Virginia Tire & Auto’s second location to be certified under the Blue Seal of Excellence program. Virginia Tire & Auto’s Gainesville location (7471 Linton Hall Road) is also included in this elite group of auto repair facilities.

Company-wide, Virginia Tire & Auto employees hold more than 235 individual ASE certifications including engine repair, automatic transmission, manual drive train & axles, suspension & steering, brakes, electronic systems, heating & air condition and engine performance.

“The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence congratulates Virginia Tire & Auto’s Chantilly location in achieving ASE Blue Seal of Excellence recognition,” said Denise Yingling, Manager, Blue Seal of Excellence Recognition Program, “The ASE certification program is a win-win for all –vehicle-owners can rely on ASE-certified technicians who have proven themselves to be knowledgeable professionals; repair shops can get additional visibility in their markets by qualifying for the Blue Seal of Excellence Recognition program and certified auto professionals can showcase their ASE certifications.”

There are more than 350,000 professionals who hold ASE certifications and must be retested every five years to maintain ASE and Master certification.
